BASCOVSKY JAMES J. Age 70, of Oakdale, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2017 with his family beside him in St. Clair Hospital. James was born on December 17, 1946. He was a retired crane operator for J&L Steel Co. He was the son of the late Edward Bascovsky and Mary (Hladysh) Bascovsky of CA. James was known for his role in many social clubs around the surrounding communities. He was a proud and loving father to Marnie (Mike) Kondas of New Jersey, and a cherished grandfather to Alexa and Zoey Kondas. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Virginia McLain, Edward Bascovsky, Diane Waterman, and Janice Fisher. He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Bascovsky. FRELICHE HAROLD J. “HAL” Age 83, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017. Son of the late Naomi and Harry Freliche; loving father of Brett (Amber) Freliche, also Lisa, Laura, and Jimmy; brother of William (Eileen) Freliche and Norma (Harry) Zimmer; also many nieces, nephews, and friends, with whom he visited during his happy holiday visits to Pittsburgh. After growing up in Penn Hills, he attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the football team. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, attending Officer Candidate School, then proceeding to Flight School. He served with pride and devotion in the Navy for eleven years, including two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his Navy service, he was employed by Caterpillar in Peoria, IL, where he resided until his death. Oberleitner (Jill) of Moon Township, James Oberleitner (Diane) of Coraopolis, Valerie Brandy (Ken) of Findlay Twp. and the late Baby Robert E. Oberleitner. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Oberleitner; and sister, Anne Myers; beloved grandfather of Matthew and Ryan Oberleitner, Alyssa and Zachary Brandy and James (Jamie) Oberleitner; step-grandfather to Nicholas and Jared Scheib and Dennis Cooper; also many nieces and nephews. KOENIG WARREN F. Warren F. Koenig, of Shaler Township, passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2017, at the age of 92. Warren was preceded in death by his wife and best friend of 56 years, Evelyn (Gillooly) Koenig. Warren was the son of the late Adelbert and Julia (Rudolph) Koenig; brother of the late Gayle Carol LaDow; and is survived by "sister" Bette Larson. Warren is survived by daughter, Beverly Boyce, daughter, Sharon (RJ) Cairns; son, Kenneth (Katheryn) Koenig, and son, Michael (Dena) Koenig. He is also survived by eight wonderful grandchildren, Gregory Boyce, Joshua and Marcie Koenig, and Matthew, Mikey, Mary Elizabeth, Christopher and Daniel Koenig. He was the best dad and grandfather that anyone could ask for. Warren graduated from Shaler High School and enlisted in the Army Air Corps and proudly served in World War II in the Pacific Theater on the Mariana Islands in Guam and Tinian as an aircraft sheet metal mechanic working on the B-29 Superfortress. After the war, he enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He joined the United States Steel Corporation and acquired a professional Fuel Engineer License. Warren worked at the Homestead Works of US Steel for 30 years in the Power & Fuel Division rising to the position of general foreman. Warren was always thankful for his great life, especially his loving wife and family who meant the world to him and felt that it couldn't have been any better. He loved his yard and his devoted cat, Fritzie. He will be greatly missed and especially for his favorite words of encouragement “Keep Smiling” and “Keep them Flying”. Visitation will be Sunday, July 16, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the NEELY FUNERAL HOME, 2208 Mt. Royal Boulevard, Glenshaw. YARBOROUGH OCIE “JACK” Age 78, of Port Vue, died Thursday, July 13, 2017. He was born in Scranton, S. Carolina on October 7, 1938, and is the son of the late OC and Elizabeth (Williams) Yarborough. He was the proprietor of Yarborough Development and OC Treat N Eat both of Port Vue, a former partner of the Youghiogheny Country Club, former South Allegheny School Board Director, was devoted to running his businesses, loved to cook and enjoyed cutting his grass. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl “Sherry” (Zirkle) Yarborough; children, Justin and A.J. Yarborough, both at home; granddaughters, Casey (Michael) Thorwart, Jaclyn (Mark) Trombulak, and Ashley (Justin) Douglas; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Annie Olive Kohler, of Jacksonville, FL, Janet (Larry) Smith, of Cassatt, SC; sister-in-law, Annie Yarborough, of Scranton, SC; and mother-in-law, Shirley Zirkle, of Port Vue. BRIGGS CHARLES “CHUCK” THOMAS Age 71, of Zelienople, PA, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017, in the UPMC Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born November 29, 1945, in Detroit, MI, the son of the late Charles Briggs and Dorothy Yuhas. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Karen Briggs Rotundo. Chuck retired from Highmark Insurance where he served as a software developer and was a veteran of the US Air Force. Chuck was always researching and learning new software programs. He was very interested in robotics and would gladly assist anyone with help on their computers. Chuck loved being around people and he always had a smile for everyone he met. He is survived by his lifelong partner, Jamie Ann Givens of Weirton; children, Jonathon Briggs, Jennifer Briggs, both of North Carolina, James Givens of Weirton, Megan (Arpan Shah) Givens of Pittsburgh and Catherine Givens of Weirton; his cousin, George Vargulich of Colorado; and puppy son, Frank. WRIGLEY Y. MICHELE Age 65, of Baldwin, formerly of Speers, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. A daughter of Ramona Jones Gelotti, who survives and resides in Belle Vernon, and a stepdaughter of the late Alex Gelotti, she was born in Ft. Belvoir, VA on September 24, 1951. Michele was employed at Shop 'n Save in Bethel Park and had formerly worked at Mon Valley Hospital in the dietary and escort departments. She loved her grandchildren, enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone, and going to the casino. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include one son and daughter-in-law, Paul 'P.J.' and Tracy Wrigley, of Pittsburgh; one brother and sister-in-law, Neil 'Jiggers' and Lil Gelotti, of Fayette City, a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Dr. Harold and Linda Wrigley, of Hilton Head, SC and Dr. Kathi Peters, of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Addyson and Zachary Wrigley; and one aunt, Lorraine Biddle, of Florida; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her stepfather; she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul M. Wrigley, Jr. on December 22, 2006; a daughter, Bethany R. Wrigley in 1992; her fiancé, Nick Marchese in 2016; and two stepsisters, Rosemary Weaver and Kathy Dalton. There will be no public visitation.
