ABEL ENOS CHARLES Age 80, of Moon Twp., passed away on September 2, 2014. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on September 27, 1933, a son of the late Henry and Margaret (Flynn) Abel. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Irene S. (Jendrasik) Abel; and their children, Lynne Abel VandenBosche and Matthew C. Abel; one grandchild, Heidi VandenBosche; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Catherine Mary Steiner, Jack Abel and Peggy Walther. Enos was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and PITT, where he received his degree in Business Administration. After being stationed in Tokyo, Japan with the Army from 1954-1956, where he also played baseball, he managed the order invoice department at Mine Safety Appliances for many years. Using his business experience, he then struck out on his own and became an entrepreneur and ran his own company, Abel Associates, until he retired. A huge Pirates fan, Enos met his wife, Irene, after Bill Mazeroski's famous 1960 World Series winning home run. An avid singer, Enos sang in the church choir at St. James in Sewickley and St. Margaret Mary in Moon Twp. He was also past president of the Moon Twp. Rotary and also a member of Sewickley Men's Club. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the HUNTSMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MOON TWP., 1522 Coraopolis Heights Rd. Big John was a basketball standout at Stowe High School, class of '66, scoring a record 47 points in a game in the '65-'66 season. John got his greatest enjoyment watching Monica participating in her sporting events and, more recently, watching Dominic grow and hearing him yell Poppy! whenever he saw John. John was an avid golfer until a stroke in 2007 prevented him from playing. A few years ago, John said, If I die tomorrow it's okay. I've had a good life. And he did. Jo Ann was born in Braddock, PA on August 2, 1953, the daughter of the late Vincent Anthony Corletti and the late Elsie (Hinkelman) Corletti. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Morgantown. She was a 1971 graduate of the Alexander M. Scott High School, 1975 graduate of Slippery Rock University, and graduated with her Master of Library Science (MLS) from Shippensburg University in 1978. She worked various places, including West Virginia University Hospitals in Nephrology and ended her career after 12 years as a Research Librarian at the National Energy Technology Laboratory. Jo Ann is survived by her husband of 31 years, Charles Yuill; children, Brendan Yuill, Megan Yuill Wagner, and Kirsten Yuill; three grandchildren; and sisters, Linda Corletti Carlson and Margaret Corletti.
