PINKNEY MARJORIE (LLOYD) Of Bethel Park, PA, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, died peacefully in her sleep with her family at Asbury Villas on March 11, 2015, at the age of 91. Marjorie is survived by her children, Debbie (Tom) Davis of Carnegie, PA and Scott (Debra) Pinkney of North Falmouth, MA; her grandson, Spencer Pinkney of Worcester, MA; her sister, Mary Louise (Richard) Keller of White Rock, NM; and many, many nieces, nephews and friends. Marge was preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, Ellwood (Spud) Pinkney; her brothers, Hazen (Irene) Lloyd and Thomas (Barbara) Lloyd; and her sister, Virginia (Arthur) Reich. Marjorie was born on August 8, 1923, in Ellsworth, PA, to Hazen and Dolvena Lloyd. She graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1941, from The University of West Virginia in 1945 (Magna Cum Laude) with a Bachelor of Science degree in business and from The University of Pittsburgh in 1969 with a Master of Education degree in Psychology and Counseling. She was a proud member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society for academic excellence. She married Spud, her high school sweetheart, in 1944. She began her family after moving to Bethel Park, PA in 1950, and began working for Baptist Homes as an accountant after her children had become independent. Her children remember her as a kind and loving mother who was the foundation of the family and who encouraged them to pursue their goals, wherever they might take them. Marge was accomplished at intellectual pursuits and often enjoyed word and jigsaw puzzles, the more complicated the better. She was a generous individual who loved helping people and who was passionate about her faith. She was an active and dedicated member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Bethel Park and often volunteered her time there. A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later time at Christ United Methodist Church in Bethel Park, PA, with interment with her husband, Spud, to follow in the columbarium there. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marge's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Christ United Methodist Church in Bethel Park, PA. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Asbury Villas and Family Hospice for their kindness and unflagging support of Marge at the end of her life.
