
MILLER SISTER ANNA MARIE Age 88, died at Caritas Christi, the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill in Greensburg, on March 19. 2014. A Greensburg native, Sister Anna Marie entered the Sisters of Charity on January 1, 1946, from Blessed Sacrament Cathedral Parish, Greensburg. Preceded in death by her parents, John P. and Coleta (Berkmyre) Miller; a sister, Mary Margaret (Arthur) Smith; and a brother, William, she is survived by nieces and nephews. She earned a bachelor's degree in education from Seton Hill University and a master's degree in education, administration from Duquesne University. Sister Anna Marie served in schools of the Greensburg and Pittsburgh dioceses and in the Archdiocese of Washington. She was principal at St. James School in Apollo, and at Holy Innocents School in Pittsburgh. She also ministered at the Seton Hill Day Care Center. In 1993, Sister Anna Marie began her ministry in the Archives of the Sisters of Charity. She also served as supervisor of environment and interior design during the building of the motherhouse. Gifted and selfless, Sister Anna Marie said of her vocation, "My religious life has brought me peace and happiness. I have been given the opportunity to serve both the community and the Church in carrying Christ to all whom we are called to serve."
