WEAVER JAMES 66, of Pittsburgh, formerly of New Castle, PA, died on January 16, 2013, of heart disease. He was born on July 8, 1946, in New Castle, son of the late Lee C. Weaver and the late Margaret J. (Robinson) Weaver. A 1964 graduate of New Castle High School, he went on to earn an undergraduate degree in art education from Westminster College, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, and a master's degree in counseling from Duquesne University. He was a teacher in the Woodland Hills School District in Pittsburgh. He retired from teaching in 1999 after a 30 year career. He also worked as a concert caterer for the Electric Factory from 1978 to 1982 and was a club disc jockey from 1982 to 1988. He may have been best known as a publisher; a renowned autograph collector, he began publishing celebrity address lists - Jim Weaver's Autographs in the Mail - in 1982 and was the world's best known celebrity address list publisher until retiring in 2006. He is survived by numerous cousins and friends, who will have a Celebration of Life gathering at Geneva-on-the Lake, Ohio, a longtime family destination, this summer. In his memory, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Arrangements were handled by the R. CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., in New Castle, PA. Send condolences at post-gazette.com/gb
