QUINN JOHN "JACK" JOSEPH Age 91, passed away Nov. 24, 2013. Just prior to celebrating his 66th wedding anniversary with his wife, Yvonne, Jack passed peacefully, thankful for the blessed life given to him. To his last day, Jack concerned himself with the welfare and activities of his loving wife, Yvonne Eleanor (Vollmer) Quinn, and his children and grandchildren. Born in Pittsburgh on March 22, 1922, the son of Peter J. and Ella (McCann) Quinn, Jack spent his childhood and adult life in the Pittsburgh area. The past 20 years Jack and Yvonne spent in Monroeville, most recently at Beatty Point Village. Upon graduating from Central Catholic H.S., Jack attended Carnegie Tech (Mellon), graduating in 1946 earning a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jack built a successful career with Exxon Corporation serving as a Senior Marketing Representative, a profession he truly loved and excelled in. Jack was predeceased by his parents; his stepmother, Theresa McCann Quinn; and most recently his only sibling, Ann Elizabeth Carson. Jack also leaves to cherish his memory his children, Maureen (Steve) Venturino, Jacqueline Long, Kevin (Christine) Quinn, Madeline (Jeff) Taylor, Patricia (Bill) Keen; and 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five nieces; and one nephew. Jack was an enthusiast of many things throughout his life. He was a tennis player, an avid reader, a windsurfer, water skier, bicyclist, and exercise fanatic. His greatest passion, however, was snow skiing, typically skiing 45-55 days a season at Seven Springs, where he also served as a member of the Ski Safety team. Jack and Yvonne also traveled extensively throughout North America as well as visiting Europe and Hawaii. His smile and kind words will be remembered by all that he had the pleasure of knowing. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 10 a.m. at North American Martyrs. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Carnegie Library for the Blind and Physically Handicap, 4724 Baum Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
