Beloved husband for 15 years of Dorothy Anater; also husband of the late Florence (Kielty); devoted father of Wendy and Robert Shepard; loving stepfather of Kevin Pennell (Deborah), Kristin P. Powell and Ruth Pennell (Dale Griffis); loving step-grandfather of seven; brother of Lois (Polly) Shimrak and the late Shirley Osbourne; also survived by nieces and nephews. Retired General Manager of Transportation of Consolidation Coal Company (now Consol Energy), was a Veteran of WW II, past Commander of American Legion Post 156 and a 50-year member of the John E.
