VELAR BERNICE E. On Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 1:40 a.m., Bernice E. Velar unexpectedly, yet peacefully, departed this earthly existence. Her cherished memory and legacy continues to resonate with her daughter, Bernice F. Anderson; and son, Anthony M. Velar; grandsons, Bruce G. Anderson and Tony E. Sharpe; great-grandsons, Aaron Sharpe and Antonio Anderson. Her husband, George N. Velar, and eldest daughter, Carole V. Sharpe preceded her in death. We are fortunate that her sister, Carmella Brown, and the extended Velar, Brown, Hopson and Elliott families as well as numerous nieces, nephews, lifelong and recently established friends remain to share and find comfort with her unique love of life. As wrenching a loss as this is, there is great comfort with the knowledge that she is now and will forever walk with God. Visitation will be at THE RAPP FUNERAL HOME, 10940 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills, PA 15235 on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. A memorial service will be offered in the chapel at 3 p.m. Please join the family for A Celebration of Life at Creamy Creations Cafe, 144 Jefferson Rd., Penn Hills, 15235 immediately following the service.
